Volunteer Opportunities

We Need You!!!

Our volunteers are a vital part of our organization and what makes us successful. Volunteers at Chaucie’s Place are individuals, groups, businesses or organizations looking to make a difference in their community. Our volunteers select their area of interest as well as their date and time that works best for them. All activities are coordinated through our Volunteer Coordinator.

QPR Support:

Volunteers are needed to work with our QPR Facilitators to provide support during our QPR trainings. Talking about suicide can be difficult for many individuals. Suicide is a widespread issue that has touched almost everyone in one way or another. It is important that during our QPR trainings we have a support person in addition to the QPR facilitator. As the QPR Support Volunteer if someone leaves the training room upset it is your responsibility to follow the individual to provide comfort. The QPR Support may need to utilize their own QPR training when checking to make sure a training attendant is ok.

Community Fairs:

Volunteers will go through an additional one-hour training on how to manage our Chaucie’s Place table at school/community fairs throughout the year. Volunteers are needed for evening and weekend events. Volunteer Time Commitment: At least 2 school and/or community fairs a year.

Data Entry:

Individuals are needed who are familiar with Microsoft Excel and able to work independently inputting data from our Stewards of Children® Program and Smart Steps: A Body Safety Program for Children ™. Volunteer Time Commitment: Schedule at least 1-2hr shift/month.

General Needs:

Volunteers are needed to help with outside work, cleaning, and other things that may come up throughout the year; Volunteers who have a special skill/like to garden/landscape/mow/snow removal, office cleaning, painting, etc. this is for you. This is a great option for groups, businesses or individuals. Volunteer Time Commitment: As available, no set requirements just scheduled at least 2 weeks in advance with our Volunteer Coordinator.

Fundraising Events:

Volunteers are needed to help with all aspects of our two fundraising events annually; Friends of Chaucie’s Place Breakfast in April and Treasure Our Children: Beach Bash in October. Our needs vary slightly for each event including, but not limited to advertising/marketing which includes, hanging signage/banners throughout the community, seeking out and obtaining donations for our live and silent auctions, serving as Table Captains to fill a table for the event, as well as set-up and tear-down for the event. Volunteer Time Commitment: 1-2 times/month for up to 3 months prior to and including the month of the event including a wrap-up meeting 1 week after the event.
