Be A Volunteer

Our volunteers are a vital part of our organization and what makes us successful.Volunteers at Chaucie’s Place are individuals, groups, businesses or organizations looking to make a difference in their community. Our volunteers select their area of interest as well as their date and time that works best for them. All activities are coordinated through our Volunteer Coordinator. 

 

Community Fairs:

Volunteers will go through an additional one-hour training on how to manage our Chaucie’s Place table at school/community fairs throughout the year. Volunteers are needed for evening and weekend events. Volunteer Time Commitment: At least 2 school and/or community fairs a year. 

 

Data Entry:

Individuals are needed who are familiar with Microsoft Excel and able to work independently inputting data from our Stewards of Children® Program and Smart Steps: A Body Safety Program for Children ™. Volunteer Time Commitment: Schedule at least 1-2hr shift/month.

 

General Needs:

Volunteers are needed to help with outside work, cleaning, and other things that may come up throughout the year; Volunteers who have a special skill/like to garden/landscape/mow/snow removal, office cleaning, painting, etc. this is for you. This is a great option for groups, businesses or individuals. Volunteer Time Commitment: As available, no set requirements just scheduled at least 2 weeks in advance with our Volunteer Coordinator. 

 

Fundraising Events:

Volunteers are needed to help with all aspects of our two fundraising events annually; Friends of Chaucie’s Place Breakfast in April and Treasure Our Children: Beach Bash in October. Our needs vary slightly for each event including, but not limited to advertising/marketing which includes, hanging signage/banners throughout the community, seeking out and obtaining donations for our live and silent auctions, serving as Table Captains to fill a table for the event, as well as set-up and tear-down for the event. Volunteer Time Commitment: 1-2 times/month for up to 3 months prior to and including the month of the event including a wrap-up meeting 1 week after the event. 

 

Smart Steps: A Body Safety Program for Children

Volunteers are needed to work with our Program Coordinator to present the Smart Steps: A Body Safety Program for Children ™ in the schools in Hamilton, Marion, Hancock, Boone, Hendricks and Tipton Counties. Volunteer Time Commitment: 2 times/month.
